You have some spare time? You're interested in issues of development and would like to invest yourself in it? Whether you are a student, unemployed or retired, Louvain Coopération au Développement will always need a helping hand at one time or another! It is also a way to gain experience in an NGO.
You can lend us a hand with the organisation of events or actions in Belgium (posters, leaflets, preparing activities, ...).
You have a gift for languages ? Help us translate our documents !
Finally, as in any institution, we have administrative tasks in which volunteers can take part (archiving, mailings, ...).
Internships in the field in a country of the South are for a minimum of four months (at least three in the field) and are aimed at students writing a thesis related to the current projects or at young graduates wishing to acquire a first experience in the South. On-site supervision is provided by our teams and local partners. In return, the student agrees to contribute to the sensitisation of the Belgian public through his/her testimony and experience. The duration of this commitment is defined by the availibility of each trainee.
The purpose of the internship is set in collaboration with our partners in the host country and with the intern. The internship must bring a real added value to the project. Topics are therefore extremely varied. It can be studies on the realities faced by the people (sanitary conditions, survival strategies ,..), or surveys to measure the impact of our actions. Trainees may also work on improving production systems or the analysis of carrier economic sectors (market research, ...). The micro-finance, Health Mutual Association or organisational analysis can also be the subject of internships.
Note: The cost of sending trainees to the South are not supported by Louvain Coopération au Développement.
